A lot of fun facts regarding the worst movie of all time: Ed Wood‘s Plan 9 from Outer Space are commonly known:
-Bella Lugosi passed away during filming and his “role” was finished by a dentist
-That it was funded by a Baptist church.
HOWEVER did you know…a remake was made in 2015 and is awaiting straight to DVD release from Monster Pictures. From the brief trailer I just saw, I can’t tell if they are playing it straight as an updated horror flick or completely apes the original…if there is anyone with more info, please post a reply!
We couldn’t leave bad enough alone either…in our little universe we have taken this legendary so-bad-it’s-almost-good film and gave a “true sequel.” We were going to call our comic Plan 10, but decided that Plan 9 From Outer Space Strikes Again better captured the spirit of the original. When you read it, there are plenty of easter egg mistakes intentionally left in-like the artist “spilling” ink on the page. Chad Helder and artist Giovanni Timpano had a hoot recreating this as a sequel–what happened 50 years after the UNSPEAKABLE HORRORS of Plan 9.
