NIKE’S PHIL KNIGHT GETS THE COMIC BOOK TREATMENT

Portland Oregon’s TidalWave Productions is proud to announce the addition of Nike founder Phil Knight comic book to its popular “Orbit” series.   “Orbit: Phil Knight: Co-Founder of NIKE” will be released On September 15, 2021. 

Written by Michael Frizell, art by Yudhi Suryo, this 22-page comic book is available both digitally and in print and can be found on multiple platforms such as Amazon.  Cover by famed comic book artist Dave Ryan. 

Phil Knight, a native of Oregon and the co-founder of Nike, Inc. is a business magnate and philanthropist who built an empire by selling a dream. By stepping into the shoes of a world-class athlete, we borrow some of their power, strength, and perseverance. Explore the life of the man behind the myth in this lavishly illustrated comic book.

Writer Michael Frizell, an educator at Missouri State University in Springfield, “When you see the Nike swoosh, you know the brand. It’s world-renowned. So, yeah, I felt the heat to get this script right. I spent about a month researching Phil Knight. I read countless articles, watched several interviews, and compiled a timeline that made sense for comic readers. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did working on it!”

The “Orbit” series was launched in 2010 and serves as a pop culture companion to TidalWave Productions successful “Female Force,” “Political Power,” and “Fame” series The latest biography comic book joins TidalWave’s ever-growing library of more than 200 comic book biographies.
