CHAPPELL ROAN GETS THE COMIC BOOK TREATMENT

TidalWave Comics is thrilled to announce the release of “FAME: Chappell Roan”, the latest installment in its acclaimed FAME comic book series, which celebrates the stories of influential personalities. This highly anticipated issue spotlights pop sensation Chappell Roan, capturing her bold and captivating journey in vivid, illustrated detail. Fans can get their hands on the new release on June 18th.

Authored by Michael Frizell and illustrated by Lucy Fidelis, “FAME: Chappell Roan” delivers an engaging 22-page story that explores the rising star’s transformation from small-town performer to unapologetic pop powerhouse. The comic is available in digital and print formats, including softcover with a cover by famed comic book artist Sorah Suhng and a special hardcover edition.

Sorah Suhng, celebrated for her powerful and highly detailed illustrations, provides the cover for the national release. With a career in comics from 2007 and a full-time focus on illustration since 2016, Sorah is best known for her dynamic depictions of fierce and sensual figures. Her unique visual voice pushes creative boundaries. ”If you’re not challenging yourself, you will get bored,” she says. Suhng is also the creator of Karnal Sin (from the Karnal Confessions series) and the Aurora graphic novel series. Her extensive credits include work for Archie Comics, Coffin Comics, Image Comics, and Marvel Comics.

“FAME: Chappell Roan” is a vibrant 22-page comic book biography that chronicles her rise in the music world—from her early performances and viral hits to her acclaimed debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and her growing influence as a queer icon and fashion-forward performer. Featuring dynamic artwork, the comic highlights key moments in her artistic evolution and personal journey, offering readers an intimate look behind the glitter and grit.

“Our biography comics have found a unique and growing audience,” said TidalWave publisher Darren G. Davis. “The success of this series proves that sequential storytelling appeals to a broader audience than just fans of superheroes. With our bio comics, we strive to offer balanced, well-researched insights into the lives of beloved celebrities, connecting with readers seeking something different.”

“Writing Fame: Chappell Roan was a creative thrill,” shared writer Michael Frizell. “Her story is one of bravery, transformation, and artistic risk. She’s rewriting what pop stardom looks like, and I hope readers are as inspired by her journey as I was while crafting it.”

The “FAME” comic book series, featured in Rolling Stone, Time, and People magazines, has highlighted musical legends like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Drake, Selena Gomez, and more.
