<\/p>\nMore that 3-and-a-half billion fans across the globe are intensely watching every offside, corner kick and goal of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Some of soccer’s most legendary names have taken the pitch for their country to try and secure the world’s biggest sports prize. TidalWave Comics looks to add to the excitement with a series of comic books that chronicle the stories of the sport’s most influential stars.<\/p>\n
Current football legends, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and two of the brightest super-stars of World Cups past, David Beckham and Diego Maradona, are featured in a series of biography comic books that explore their on-field exploits and share their personal stories.<\/p>\n
“The idea behind each of these titles is to show what molded them into superstars; into household names,” said co-author Michael Frizell. “Despite their unrivaled abilities on the pitch, these are stories of incredible athletes that go beyond their kits.<\/p>\n
Cataloged under the “Fame” banner, these four comic books feature artists from Spain and Argentina are available ion both print and digital formats.<\/p>\n
According to TidalWave president Darren Davis “These books will appeal to people all around the world, whether you call it football or soccer.\u201d<\/p>\n
The comics \u201cFame: David Beckham,\u201d \u201cFame: Diego Maradona \u2013 The Hand of God,\u201d \u201cFame: Cristiano Ronaldo,\u201d and \u201cFame: Lionel Messi\u201d have be repackaged in an exciting new format and are available now.<\/p>\n
TidalWave\u2019s recent partnership with Ingram allows them to produce high-quality books. The comic book will feature a heavy-stock cover and bright, clean colors in the interior. Ingram works across the full publishing spectrum, providing assistance to some of the largest names in the business to local indie authors.<\/p>\n
Portland, Oregon-based TidalWave Comics enlisted Americans Michael Frizell and Peter Rogers to write the stories, featuring art by Angelito Amaro Bernuy from Toledo, Spain and Pablo Martinea from San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Catamarca Province, Argentina, to create comic books which truly break down international borders.<\/p>\n
The \u201cFame\u201d series serves as a companion to the successful \u201cPolitical Power,\u201d \u201cTribute,\u201d \u201cOrbit,\u201d and \u201cFemale Force\u201d imprints of creative nonfiction comic books offered by TidalWave Comics.<\/p>\n
