Today is World AIDS Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We developed and wrote this book 13 years ago to reduce the stigma of HIV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of my proudest moments in all of my comic book career. It continues to make a difference with newly infected people as well as families affected with it. With World AIDS day today it would make a good read for anyone. (digitally on iTunes, Nook, Kindle, ComiXology and more) It really is a little I put my whole life and self into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrote the book because I wanted to make a difference in the HIV world and most of the movies and books were about people dying. I wanted to tell it from the other side, the person that manages it from a living perspective. It\u2019s not touchy-feely. It\u2019s basically raw emotion. Plus, it has a lot of cool monsters in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was fortunate to bring this book and talk about it to places like YALE University and a bunch of high schools. The book also won a couple awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cover by by Keu K Cha (X-Men) and Sean Murphy (Batman: White Knight) is described as, after learning that he has contracted the HIV virus, attorney Zak Raven leaves his practice behind to set forth on a mission of relaxation-\u2013 until his peaceful trip goes wildly astray, leaving Zak shipwrecked on what he thinks is a deserted island with only the words in his own journal to keep him company. Unknown to Zak, four miles below the surface secretly hides a government experimentation center where scientists are playing God by trying to artificially evolve a human based species that can survive evacuation missions in deep space. Within 900 years, earth will be dealt a deathblow by a mountain-size asteroid. However, so far they have only achieved creating living abominations. Zak and these creatures are on a collision course, and he must rise to the challenge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
